The Wynwood Building on Friday – December 6th from 4 to 8pm invites guests to the Press & Artists Preview Reception. Culinary mastery will be on display with a fully functional kitchen in Victoria Diaz’ Bath and Kitchen Boutique that features fully working Foster-US induction stoves and appliances. Guests will be entertained with a live demonstration of ‘field to table’ amuse bouche preparation showcasing Chef M. Morillo. Manuel Morelli of Silver Spoon Events and chef to ‘the stars’ is keeping his recipe under his toque with one prime ingredient home grown basil, of course.
The iMed Advisory Eco Lounge and Gifting Suite will feature an opportunity to meet Will Filippelli, Esthetician and an application of new eyelash extensions to be at your best for the remainder of Art Basil (one eye free the other a $50 contribution to the Climate Coral Preservation fundraiser). An open house at Robert Fontaine Gallery, Ivan and Sindy Possos’ Cielo Artisan Pops rounds out the evening. Complimentary admission with R.S.V.P. and tax deductable donations are encouraged.
Saturday and Sunday morning – December 7th and 8th puts the Fashion Allapattah Design Neighborhood (FAD) on the map. The trending destination for those over the ‘samo -samo’ of Wynwood, get on the inside track and make the trek for the 2nd annual outdoor exhibit and Co-Modeco.com ‘Reveal’ and Secret Garden Party. The much anticipated worldwide debut of Miami’s first Compact Modular Eco Home with host Pierre Conille includes complimentary estate wines and South Beach Brewery craft ales. A ‘must see’ is the Bonnier Gallery Inc. current exhibit of Lizzie Gill, illustrator for the New Yorker and Kathleen Jacobs : Avion, an homage to living trees wrapped in canvas. The historic FAD neighborhood with its pop-up proliferation of galleries and vintage stores is becoming the de rigueur destination for the inrepid traveler. The five dollar martinis at Las Roas, disputably Miami’s oldest watering hole, nightly entertainment and free parking is reason enough to make the trek into the hinterlands just one block west of I-95 from the faddish Wynwood Art District.
